Dear students and families of St.
Joseph,
It is with great
pleasure that we welcome you to the 2008-2009 academic year.
Thank you for being an active part of a Greenville legacy
since 1888. At St. Joseph we remain committed to educational
excellence for the mind, body, and soul.
The Catholic Church
has repeatedly affirmed parents as the primary educators of
their children:
Parents have the
original, primary, and inalienable right to educate their
offspring in conformity with the family’s moral and
religious convictions. They are educators because they are
parents. At the same time, the vast majority of parents
share their educational responsibilities with other
individuals and institutions, primarily the school.
- Holy See’s Teaching on Catholic Schools
We at St. Joseph
Catholic School are delighted with your decision allowing us
to share in the educational responsibilities of your
wonderful child! Please afford us the benefit of your
counsel as to how we can better attain our mutual
educational goals. We look most forward to working
with you.
This
Parent/Student
Handbook
defines the expectations and policies of the school’s
partnership with our students and families.
It is requested that all students and parents read the
Handbook in its entirety, keep the
Handbook on your computer desktop
for quick reference, and then print, sign and return the
agreement forms at the conclusion of the
Handbook.
Thank you and God
bless you and yours.
Regards,
Paul C. Artman, Jr.
Principal
