Brian McGaugh

Course Description

This course presents to the student first an overview of the history and general meaning of sacraments.  It then presents a more focused study on the seven sacraments:  Sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist); Sacraments of healing (Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick); Sacraments at the service of Communion (Matrimony and Holy Orders). The course will also focus on the history of the Catholic Church from the time of the 12 Apostles, to the legalization of Christianity, to the Protestant Reformation, to the present day. Christian Vocations will also be examined as a supplemental study.
