Visual Arts Studio I & II and Individual Study are a Fine Arts semester courses. Visual Arts Studio I provides a fundamental visual arts introduction and will develop basic two and three-dimensional compositional skills with various media. Visual Arts Studio I serves to be a prerequisite for Visual Arts Studio II as we seek to apply practiced concepts and skills acquired first semester, to the second semester of study. Students are not expected to have previously developed art skills entering Visual Arts Studio I, but may already have evident abilities or a great deal of interest in visual creativity. In the Visual Arts Studio II course, students are expected to have developed basic fundamental compositional skills through its prerequisite. Students will continue practicing and developing abilities and advanced craftsmanship, creativity, and imagination in producing more fulfilling, expressive, and content-rich creative works. Individual Study continues the advanced exploration of media, processes, and concepts in the development of student-directed project work for inclusion in advanced portfolio.
